According to a report, the USA’s 9 state department officials had their iPhones hacked by the special spyware from the NSO Group. It may due to the Pegasus malware. It was used to spy on the USA government official victims over the last couple of months. However, the original identity of the hackers isn’t identified yet and victims were working either based on working on the African countries projects or especially in Uganda.
They were now notified by Apple that the customers whose devices had been attacked by the “ForcedEntry” exploit. It quickly enabled hackers to remotely hack the smartphones remotely & install the “Pegasus” quickly without any phone interactions. Apple is on the way to sue the NSO group (hackers) for making some fraudulent activities on their clients’ phones.
They were compromised due to the incident because the phone they used was using Apple iPhone not registered in the United States of America.
The NSO Group said that “We emphasize that the Pegasus software is installed based on phone numbers only, and the tools are incapable of being installed on US (+1) numbers. This case doesn’t involve US phone numbers, and the company had no way to know who the persons monitored by our customers were.”
If the legal allegations will be true, the company will definitely take legal action against the customers.
